Basic options
Accessing right-click options
The system includes two types of right-click menu options:
- system-level
- screen-level.
Right-click menu options are available when inserting or updating records.
Screen-level options
Screen-level options are displayed at the top of the right-click menu. The screen-level options change based on which screen is being accessed.
A right-click menu option is displayed for each button that appears on the screen.
System-level options
System-level options are displayed at the bottom of the right-click menu. System-level options are common functions that are available on most screens, such as audit trail.
Feature Function (see screenshot below):
- "Audit Trail: Monitors attribute changes to records. See "Auditing Attributes" in the System Administrator Guide.
- "Add to Screen Cache" : Adds the name of the screen as a tab at the bottom of the application.
- "Remove from Screen Cache": Removes the name of the screen as a tab at the bottom of the application.
Add to / Remove from Screen Cache
The "Screen Cache", located at the bottom of the screen (see screenshot below), is an important feature of Hexagon that allows the user to switch conveniently between differents screens without losing the record selected or under editing.
All Cache screens are independent from one another and can be manipulated individually. For example:
- one screen can display a new Purchase Order being edited,
- while another screen displays a dataspy,
- and yet another one having the Screen Configurator open and not yet saved.
To add a screen to the Cache (see screenshot below):
- Select to Screen to add the Cache, and select the "Record View" tab.
- Right-Click on the Screen, and select "Add to Screen Cache".
Note: the screen appears as a tab at the bottom of the application after a new login.

To remove a screen from the Cache (see screenshot above):
- Select to Screen to remove from the Cache, and select the "Record View" tab.
- Right-Click on the Screen, and select "Remove from Screen Cache".
Note: the screen disappears from the bottom of the application after a new login.
